If you are a homeschooling mom you know that buying material can get expensive. Lately I have been creating my own worksheets and games for my girls. My middle daughter has dyslexia and that has created many challenges along the way, especially in reading. I have been really trying to come up with creative ways to make her enjoy learning. Give these free popsicle printable sight words a try.

There are several ways that you can use these popsicle cards. I printed mine out on card stock and laminated them so that they would last longer. However, I am sure that laminating regular paper will still last just as long. I just like to take extra precaution because my two year old loves to destroy things. Especially shiny things that look like popsicles.
One of the ways that I use these popsicles is by placing them in different areas of the room. For example, in my kitchen/school room I will tape the cards to different things objects in the room. Each card that she finds she will write the word down on her sheet. This helps her to recognize the sight word and learn to spell it, as well.
Another game that we play is I put them up on my chalk board and point to them. Each sight word that she gets correct she gets to put a clothes pin on it. I buy the colored clothes pins to make it more fun. I know your thinking that this is way too simple, but my 1st grader loves it.
There is so many different ways that you could use these cards to help your child or student learn. I hope that if you print these off that you get as much as enjoyment out of it as we have.
If you share these cards I ask that you please direct them back to my blog and give me the credit. You will receive 4 sheets of elementary sight words. You can also find other material on teacherspayteachers website as well. Once you have downloaded the cards and used them I would love for you to leave feedback. You can download the sight words by clicking on this link here.
Let me know how you help your children or students to remember their sight words.

These are great. I also saw ones that were pairs where the popsicle sticks should be matched together. Thanks for sharing.

I would love to see more winter themed sight word cards. These are super cute and will be so fun to use this summer.

I actually have a new game coming out this week that is a woodland theme. It isn’t the sight words, but those will be coming out this month. I am working on adding a store to my blog so you do not have to be redirected to another website to purchase.
